Goals from Ronaldo adnd Talisca in the second half sealed the deal for Al Nassr as they still believe in their shot at the title, with Al-Ittihad leading the charts with 63 points, three above Ronaldo’s side.

Al Nassr gets a free kick as yahya is fouled from a mindless sliding tackle. Short pass instead of a safer setpiece option and that doesn’t work in the end as the ball is cleared away

Sulaiheem was still unstable from the tackle that gave his side the penalty and was seen limping off the pitch. Looks worrisome for the visitors

Corner for Tai. Musona takes it. He delivers a curler inside the box, but Talisca heads it away

Ghareeb on the right flank, made a counter out of nothing as he slipped past a defender at the edge of the away line and continued to sprint. He then puts in a through ball inside the box but there’s no one to receive it

A chance was there to double the lead but Talisca’s header goes wide. But shortly after, the linesman blows his whistle as Talisca is caught offside during the build up

Talisca with a beautiful set of moves as he maneuvers past three defenders and into the box before going down. Shouts for another penalty but the referee thinks otherwise. No protests from Al Nassr players either

Another attac from Al Nassr. Ghareeb evades a couple of defenders on the left flank and puts in a cross but it is deflected

The penalty taker is obvious. Ronaldo gets ready before the goal. AND HE SLOTS IT TO THE LOWER RIGHT CORNER. AL NASSR TAKES THE LEAD

After a long protest from Al Nassr players, the referee turns towards VAR. AND THAT’S A PENALTY FOR AL NASSR!

Ronaldo gets booked for pushing the referee. Suicidal move from the skipper as he was arguing for a foul on Sulaiheem inside the box. Replay shows Ronaldo in close proximity of the referee but there’s no evidence that he pushed him

Electifying start for Al Nassr as they press hard. Ronaldo gets the ball at the edge of the box but shoots it wide

And with that, first half comes to an end. It has been a battle of equals so far, despite Al Nassr dominating the posesion. Both the teams had quite a bit of chances but failed to capitalise on any of them. The biggest chance so far came for Talisca in the second minute of the game

Konan tries an atrocious long ball, directed towards Ronaldo, who is running inside the box. But the ball travels faster than the Portugal international and into the hands of Braga

Superb line of play from AL Tai as Musona comes up with a quick run, past three defenders. He passes it to Mbenza inside the box but he shoots it wide.

FOUR ADDED MINUTES

Braga is down and looks like he has some discomfort on his left knee. Replay shows that he collided with Ronaldo a few minutes back. Medical team comes in to help and he’s on his feet in no time

Counter from Al Tai. Lajami runs through the right flank and crosses it to Mbenza on the edge of the box, he tries to shoot but it is blocked

Ronaldo gets a superb long ball at the edge of the box but is caught offside

Konan makes a briliant run inside the box, goes to the right corner and puts in a cross. Ronaldo jumps to get it but couldn’t do it but Talisca gets his head to it but the ball goes nowhere near the goal

Ronaldo is fouled from a challenge and a its a free kick for AL Nassr. Ronaldo gets ready to take it. He launches a powerful shot but it hits the wall

CHANCE! AL Tai makes a mess out of a potential shot at goal. An unmarked Musona got the ball in close quarters with Rossi but he slips and falls

Al Nassr pressing constantly, in search of its opening goal. Ghareeb gets the ball on the right flank, he puts in a cross towards Ronaldo but the ball goes higher than his jump

Sulaiheem gets in a challenge to get the ball from the corner kick but gets himself injured as he collided with a defender. The medical team rushes in but Sulaiheem gets up and limps away, hopefully for a short breather

WHAT A SAVE! Ronaldo got a free chance from a defensive error. He shoots from the edge of the D box but a full length dive from Braga averts danger

Corner for Al Tai. But Al Nassr players are protesting for an offiside, replay looked close but the decision stays. Skipper Musona takes the corner, but puts more power than expected as the ball eludes all the white and grey shirts to go away for a throw

Another Al-Nassr attack and this time Konan initiates it as he gives a through ball to Sulaiheem, he tries an ambitious attempt at goal but the shot is too weak to test Braga

CHANCE! Talisca gets the ball on the right flank, goes into the final third and crosses it to Ronaldo. The latter puts on a giant leap and heads it directly to the hands of Braga

Talisca starts an attack as he puts in an inch perfect long ball towards Konan, who picks Ronaldo on the left. Ronaldo quickly forwards it to a running Konan, who tries a cross but the GK Braga collects it

Al Tai gets a free kick as captain Musona is fouled. Sayoud takes in and delivers a long ball into the box but Al Nassr defenders surround the ball and clear it away

ANOTHER CHANCE! Gustavo, who intercepted an Al tai long ball, takes a couple of steps before launching a lofted ball into the box. Talisca jumps higher than the defender and heads it but it goes brushing past the crossbar!

Mbenza gets the ball on the left deep into Al Nassr’s half. He dishes out a low cross towards Musona and he tricks Ghanam with a fake pass and then completes it but Rossi is there to collect

Ghareeb gets a lofted ball from Talisca on the left. The former skips past a couple of defenders and into the box. He tries to finish it but shoots well wide

Both the teams are playing cautiously, managing with short passes but Al Nassr has 78% posession right now

Gonzalez has bee a defensive tank so far for Al Nassr. This time he chases a well directed through ball for Musona and gets to it quicker than the striker. Al Nassr’s defense has been compact thus far

Yet another attack from Al Tai. Harzan initiates it near half line as he puts in a through ball towards Mbenza but another tidy defensive work keeps him at bay

Chance for Al-Nassr as Ronaldo gets the ball insde the box. He evades a couple of defenders before running into another as he trips and falls down. The chance goes begging as well

A defending error frojm Alawjami leads to an Al Tai counter attack as Mbenza broke free with just him and the goalkeeper in contention but Gonzalez intervenes and clears away the danger. Shortly after the linesman penalises Mbenza for an offside

MISSED!!! Talisca misses a sitter. Ghanam on the right made superb work off a through ball into the box before putting in a pass in the direction of Talisca who mishits it

Al-Nassr will start the proceedings and will play left to right first. Positive start for Ronaldo’s side as Ghareeb gets the ball on the left flank in the final third, he puts in a cross but it is cleared away

We are just minutes away from the kick-off as Al-Nassr will look to secure a win to stay in the title race, albeit having remote chances of making it. Cristiano Ronaldo’s side and leader Al-Ittihad are separated by five points with four matches remaining this season.

Al Ta’ee and Cristiano Ronaldo’s Al-Nassr will lock horns in the Saudi Pro League at the Prince Abdul Aziz bin Musa’ed Stadium on Wednesday (IST).

Al-Nassr’s fight for the title is all but over as the first-placed Al-Ittihad has a five point cushion over Ronaldo’s side. With five more games to play this season, Al-Nassr would hope to win all the matches henceforth and would expect some help from other clubs to get within the silverware’s proximity.

Al-Nassr has won just two of its last five matches, with two draws and a loss against Al-Hilal last month. Meanwhile seventh-placed Al Ta’ee has an identical track record in its previous five games but it comes into this clash on the back of a gruelling 3-4 loss against Al-Batin last week.
