Everton growing into the game

61' Everton 1-2 Manchester United

In the last few minutes, the hosts have really grown into the match. Nothing too drastic has changed, they're just starting to make more of their passes and have ensured they are putting their opponents under more pressure.

It can't be too long before Lampard starts to think it's worth throwing Calvert-Lewin into the action, especially as most people will have forgotten that Maupay is even playing!

Gray getting into the game for Everton

57' Everton 1-2 Manchester United

Gray has been a passenger for the vast majority of this game but he's just starting to make his presence felt. Most recently. he beats a couple of United defenders before hanging a decent cross into the box but no one could get on the end of it.

If only Calvert-Lewin had been on the pitch...

More of the same in the early stages of the second half

54' Everton 1-2 Manchester United

The home side are struggling to keep any kind of control in this game and most of United's bright attacks are being started by sloppy errors from Everton. The first few minutes of the second half have largely imitated the first half and, if the Toffees aren't careful, Ten Hag's side will put this game out of sight.

Onana booked for nasty challenge on Antony

51' Everton 1-2 Manchester United

Onana has looked a real talent in the Premier League so far but that's a really rash challenge on Antony. The United winger slipped away from him and, with his studs showing, he brought his opponent down.

The referee had no choice but to show the game's first yellow card to the Everton midfielder.

Back underway for the second half at Goodison Park

46' Everton 1-2 Manchester United

The hosts get us underway for the second half. They'll need to show a marked improvement on the first half if they want to get back into this game.

A comprehensive Manchester United half-time report

Take a look at what Laurie has made of that first half. Very hard to disagree with anything he's said.

United should be out of sight here given how bad Everton have been.

Casemiro's run for his chance was, dare I say, Lampard-esque. Precision pick out by Rashford. Bad miss. Similar chance to Fernandes goal here in 3-1 win.

If United do the basics they'll win comfortably. #MUFC

Manchester United go into half-time with a well-earned 2-1 lead

HT Everton 1-2 Manchester United

After the early setback, the visitors have been, by far, the better side. Antony and Ronaldo both showed great composure to put away their chances.

Everton will need a reaction in the second half as they've been really poor since conceding the equaliser. As for United, Ten Hag will be asking for more of the same after the break.

A landmark moment and a deserved lead for the visitors

45' Everton 1-2 Manchester United

What a way to make amends from Casemiro. He pick-pocketed Iwobi in the middle of the park and sent Ronaldo on his bike down the left wing.

The 37-year-old showed a fleet of foot and skipped into the penalty area before sending a brilliant left-footed low effort past Pickford and into the net he had left unguarded.

His goal drought is over and United are back in front!

Casemiro misses huge chance to restore United's lead

43' Everton 1-1 Manchester United

What a chance that is for the Brazilian. He ran into the Everton penalty area and somehow wasn't picked up before being picked out by Rashford.

The cross was perfect and dissected the hosts' defence but Casemiro could only send his header wide when he simply had to score.

Offside flag denies Fernandes' deflected goal

38' Everton 1-1 Manchester United

Another scare for Everton, they really need to wake up. It's bedlam in their penalty area as a number of efforts are blocked by last-ditch efforts before Fernandes sees a left-footed strike fly into the back of the net courtesy of a deflection.

However, the Manchester United captain doesn't even consider celebrating as he seemingly knew Ronaldo was offside at the beginning of the move. A big let-off for the Toffees.

What a start to Premier League life!

35' Everton 1-1 Manchester United

Antony didn't enjoy himself in the Europa League on Thursday night but he's loving life in the Premier League.

His goal this evening is the third he's scored in his first three league games; after opening the scoring against Arsenal and netting a brilliant consolation in the Manchester derby.

Everton still struggling to find their composure

32' Everton 1-1 Manchester United

While the game has certainly calmed down in the last few minutes, Everton are yet to have re-found the calmness and composure that they were showing when the score was 0-0 and then 1-0.

Although, there's always the threat of a counter attack and you can never write them off from set-pieces.

Ronaldo replaces Martial

29' Everton 1-1 Manchester United

I mentioned just before kick-off that Martial went into the game as an injury doubt after pulling up during the warm-up. Well, he's not even lasted half an hour, although he was able to provide an assist for Antony.

Ronaldo is on in his place. Reminder that the 37-year-old is currently on 699 club goals - how he'd love a 700th tonight.

Everton all at sea defensively!

23' Everton 1-1 Manchester United

Antony's equaliser has thrown Everton right off their rhythm. They're allowing far too much space for the likes of Fernandes to run into and could find themselves a goal or two behind if they aren't able to restore their defensive composure in the next few minutes.

Worrying signs for Lampard and his staff.

Pickford keeps out Eriksen effort

20' Everton 1-1 Manchester United

This is much more like it from the Red Devils. They're moving the ball about with more purpose but Everton are very nearly once again the masters of their own downfall.

A poor pass led to Eriksen getting the ball and he drove into space before curling a left-footed effort towards the bottom corner but Pickford was equal to it and batted it away.
