Sri Lanka vs Namibia highlights: Gerhard Erasmus-led Namibia hammered Sri Lanka by 55 runs in the tournament opener of the ICC World T20 2022 at the Simonds Stadium.

Sri Lanka locked horns with Namibia in the opening match of the T20 World Cup 2022 in Australia on Sunday. Batting first in the World Cup opener, Jan Frylinck and JJ Smit played crucial knocks for Gerhard Erasmus' men as Namibia posted 163-7 in 20 overs. In reply, Sri Lanka suffered a shocking batting collapse as the Islanders folded for 108 in the 20-over contest. Frylinck was named the Player of the Match for his all-round heroics.

12:51 PM - All over! Namibia have outclassed Sri Lanka in the T20 World Cup opener! A huge setback for Islanders, who entered the World Cup after winning the Asia Cup. Namibia have won the match by 55 runs. A massive win for the Gerhard Erasmus-led side.

12:42 PM - Who would have thought? The Asian champions are on verge of registering a shock defeat at the hands of Namibia. Karunaratne is out and Sri Lanka are 9 down in the 16th over. SL 95-9 after 16 overs.

10:55 AM - Jan Frylinck is playing a crucial knock for Namibia. Frylinck has scored 31 off 22 balls. NAM 132-6 after 18 overs. Sri Lanka's Karunaratne leaked 16 runs in his last over.

10:45 AM - Gerhard Erasmus-led Namibia are hoping to set a respectable target for Sri Lanka in the World Cup opener. Wiese was handed a first-ball duck by Theekshana in the 15th over. NAM 95-6 after 15 overs.

10:12 AM - A crucial partnership to recover from an awful start is all Namibia need right now. Erasmus and Baard have been watchful so far following the end of the 1st powerplay. NAM 56/3 after 9 overs.

10:00 AM - Gerhard Erasmus and Stephan Baard will need to stage a comeback for Namibia. Earlier, Chameera bagged a wicket on the second ball following his return to international cricket after an injury. NAM 43/3 after 6 overs.
