The focus this week is on the Champions League final between Manchester City and Inter, and we have no shortage of picks for the match.

Below are this week’s Champions League final predictions and odds for June 10.

Pick: Ilkay Gundogan to score at least 2 goals (+1800)

Let’s start off the European season with a bang, shall we?  Last week in the FA Cup final it was the Man City midfielder’s brace that beat Man United. Gundogan has been in superb form down the stretch, and his late runs have caused all sorts of problems for opponents.

Pep Guardiola won’t be making the same mistake that he did the last time City was in the Champions League Final; the one where he had Gundogan in a holding role. No, this time the German will have a free license, and at +1800 for another brace, why not?

Pick: Brozovic anytime card (+215)

The Champions League final is here. And in a final, never pick a winner. There is too much at stake for each side and in one match, anything can happen.

Manchester City are the favourites over Inter by a wide margin, so to find some value, go for cards! Specifically, Marcelo Brozović to get a card anytime. This bet is +215 and that is great value considering Brozović already has 10 yellows this season.

Furthermore, in a final, the level of chaos is ramped up and fouls are much more common. In the Europa League final we saw 13 cards, and in the Europa Conference League final, we saw eight. You can’t always predict the winner of a final but can assume there will be cards galore!

Pick: Tie (+370)

My rule when it comes to betting on finals and knockout football is to always bet the draw. Why? These one-off, elimination matches are generally tightly contested. Also, underdogs, like Inter will have no issue taking a powerhouse like City all the way to penalties to level the playing field.

Easier said than done, but I believe this will be Inter’s approach in the final and they have the ability to do so. On their path to the Champions League final, they kept five clean sheets. I understand Porto, Benfica and AC Milan aren’t City but that’s not the point. Inter can frustrate really good sides and I expect that to happen on Saturday.

Hosted by the longtime voice of soccer in Canada, James Sharman, Room 4-4-2 puts the spotlight on the biggest news from the global soccer scene, as Sharman joins seasoned experts Albert Vartanian, Sara Poraria, and Toronto FC and MLS insider Michael Singh to discuss and dissect the top stories from the Premier League, La Liga, Serie A, Bundesliga, Champions League, FIFA World Cup, and Canadian soccer.
