India vs England, 2nd Test Day 2 Live Score Updates: IND vs ENG, India managed to score 336/6 in 93 overs at STUMPS in the second Test at Vizag, all thanks to Yashasvi Jaiswal's unbeaten 179. This is Yashasvi's second Test century and his career best. Currently, Yashasvi and Ashwin are at the crease.

Earlier, after winning the toss at Dr YS Rajasekhara Reddy ACA-VDCA Cricket Stadium in Visakhapatnam, India decided to bat first. Yashasvi Jaiswal and skipper Rohit Sharma tried not to repeat the same mistake in the second Test, as they did by losing early wickets in Hyderabad. 

However, Sharma (14) lost his wicket to England's Test debutant Shoaib Bashir while deflecting the third delivery of 18th over to leg slip. Following this, Shubman Gill (34) did support Jaiswal and gave some stability to the squad. He lost his wicket to James Anderson's fifth delivery of 29 over. Gill edged the ball again, and Ben Foakes caught it. This was the fifth time Gill fell to England's veteran swinger, giving the latter his Test wicket number 691.

After this, Shreyas Iyer (27) played some good shots and kept the partnership with Jaiswal steady. He also set a 3rd wicket partnership with Jaiswal of 50 runs in 85 balls. Iyer lost his wicket to Tom Hartley in the fourth delivery of 51'st over as he was caught by English wicketkeeper Foakes. 

Rajat Patidar (32) set a 4th Wicket partnership with Jaiswal of 50 runs in 89 balls. But, he lost his wicket to Rehan Ahmed's 71.1 over where he played on to his stumps. 

After Patidar, Axar Patel (27) was sent to give some boost to the run rate, and he did exactly that. However, he lost his wicket on the 85.3 over – bowled by Shoaib Bashir, when Rehan Ahmed took his catch. 

Local boy Kona Srikar Bharat (17) did impress with his shots and temperament but lost his wicket on the 90.6 over. He was bowled by Rehan Ahmed when Shoaib Bashir took his catch.

Meanwhile, the star of DAY 1 was undisputedly India's opener Yashasvi Jaiswal, who remained unbeaten at 179 runs in 257 ball. He lead India to score 336/6 in 93 overs. This was Yashasvi's second Test century. In this, he surpassed his previous best of 171 against West Indies. In his 179 not out, Jaiswal smashed 17 fours and 5 sixes. 

Jaiswal took 151 balls to reach 100, and 224 balls to reach 150. Currently, he is unbeaten and will begin the DAY 2 with R Ashwin (5) on February 3. 

For England, debutant spinner Shoaib Bashir and Rehan Ahmed took two wickets each while Tom Hartley and James Anderson picked one wicket each.

Former England skipper Michael Atherton has said that the hosts have an “excellent chance" of winning the 2nd Test match. 

"Such an outcome, so unexpected and so unbelievable given where both teams were after the first innings, must have a huge psychological impact, especially given the quick turnaround and the injuries to two of India's key players, Ravindra Jadeja and KL Rahul. England have an excellent chance of building on their lead," Atherton wrote in his column for The Times.

Neither Kuldeep Yadav nor someone like Washington Sundar can make up for Ravindra Jadeja, he said. Atherton considers Jadeja next only to Virat Kohli in terms of making an impact.

Rajat Patidar earlier spoke about making a debut for India at the age of 30.

"Waiting for so long is common in Indian cricket," Rajat Patidar told the media in Vizag.

Jaiswal's conversion rate from 50s to 100s is highly impressive. He has scored two 50s and two 100s so far. With his score in the second innings, he surpassed his previous best of 171 against West Indies.

Rehan Ahmed was the youngest male to play Test cricket for England. In December 2022, he debuted at 18 years and 126 days in Karachi. In that match, he took five wickets in Pakistan's second innings. 

In the 2nd Test between India and England, he was called in to bowl for the first time just before the Tea Break. Many wondered why the leg-spinner was not given a chance even when debutant Rajat Patidar came in to bat. Anyway, Rehan impressed with his bowling and took 2 wickets for 61 in 16 overs.
