CTV News reporter Jessica Robb appeared to suffer a medical emergency while reporting live on location for the media outlet.

The journalist was reporting on location for the Canadian news channel when she appeared to go into medical distress before the cameras jumped back to the studio.

As many viewers reached out to the outlet to find out about the reporter, we learn about Jessica Robb and share an update on her condition.

Who is Jessica Robb?

Jessica was born and raised in Edmonton, Alberta’s capital city. She earned a BA degree in Communications and Journalism from MacEwan University.

She studied the course from 2015 to 2019, which would mean that she is her mid-20s. Her first role after university was as an editorial assistant at Global News in June 2019 before she was promoted to a video journalist two years later at the same outlet.

Her CTV news bio page states that she “is thrilled to be back” in Edmonton “telling the stories that live in the heart of the city” she calls her own home.

“Outside of work, Jessica is an avid runner, long-time soccer player, and rookie guitar player,” her bio adds. “She will stop to pet every dog and never says no to an oat milk latte.”

On her Twitter page, which is currently set to private, Jessica describes herself as a multimedia journalist who is chasing stories around Edmonton.

Reporter suffers on-air medical emergency

On Sunday (January 8, 2023), the CTV News reporter sparked fears on social media after she appeared to go into medical distress during a live coverage.

As per videos shares on Twitter, Jessica was reporting live on location before she started slurring and repeating some words.

“Sorry Nahreman. I’m, I’m, I’m not feeling very well right now, and I’m about to just,” Jessica said in front of the camera

After becoming visibly distressed, the cameras cut back to the studio where the news anchor said that the team on location will make sure Jessica gets the help she needs.

“Okay, we’ll come back to you and we’ll make sure that Jessica, you are doing okay,” the news anchor in the studio said.

News channel and Jessica share update

In a Twitter post shortly after the live coverage, the news channel thanked viewers at home for reaching out to find about Jessica’s condition.

The news channel said that Jessica was “feeling better” and is now resting following the medical emergency.

As per screenshots shared online, the reporter took to her own Twitter profile where she wrote: “I won’t bury the lede: I’m okay. Thank you to everyone who has reached, my cameraman for being there for me and [Nahreman] for being an absolute pro (as usual).”
