Canucks' Elias Pettersson, Quinn Hughes out vs. Kraken
Vancouver will be without two top players for the foreseeable future.
Canucks head coach Rick Tocchet told reporters on Saturday that captain Quinn Hughes and forward Elias Pettersson are both out for Saturday's game against the Seattle Kraken. Tocchet added post-game that no there hasn't been a decision regarding timelines for the two All-Stars.
“It’s hard to speculate,” Tocchet said when asked when either player might return. “I don’t know if it’s daily or weekly.”
Hughes played after being a game-time decision for the Canucks' last game on Monday against the San Jose Sharks.
Pettersson broke out of a seven-game scoring drought with a pair of goals in Vancouver’s 4-3 win over the Sharks. He played briefly in the third before leaving the bench.
Hughes (42 points) and Pettersson (28 points) are first and second, respectively, in scoring for the Canucks this season.
The Canucks are 17-10-7 and sit in fourth place in the Pacific. They're coming off a win over the Sharks.
You can watch the Canucks-Kraken game Saturday at 4 p.m. ET / 1 p.m. PT on Sportsnet or Sportsnet+.
