Labour Day
Premier's, Minister of Labour's statement on Labour Day
Premier John Horgan and Harry Bains, Minister of Labour, have issued the following joint statement marking Labour Day:
Labour Day is a time to recognize and celebrate the contributions of workers across our province. It is a day to acknowledge the hard work, dedication, and resilience of workers who play a vital role in building our communities and driving our economy forward.
"On this Labour Day, we express our gratitude to the workers who have shown incredible strength and adaptability during these challenging times. The COVID-19 pandemic has highlighted the importance of workers in various sectors, including healthcare, education, transportation, and many more. We are deeply grateful for their commitment to keeping our province running smoothly and ensuring the well-being of all British Columbians."
Labour Day also serves as a reminder of the ongoing need to protect workers' rights and improve working conditions. It is an opportunity to reflect on the progress made in advancing workers' rights and to continue advocating for fair wages, safe workplaces, and equal opportunities for all.
