American thrash metal band Megadeth plans to bring its Crush the World tour to Saskatoon in May.
Hitting 12 Canadian cities, the tour celebrates the band’s 2022 album, The Sick, The Dying … and the Dead! — its first studio release since 2016 and its highest charting album of all time.
Recognized for songs like Trust, Symphony of Destruction and Sweating Bullets, Megadeth has earned platinum certification in the U.S. for five of its 16 albums.
With multiple lineup changes over the years, guitarist and vocalist Dave Mustaine — who formed the band in 1983 after being fired from Metallica — has remained its only constant.
The band won its first Grammy for the song Dystopia in 2017. It has received 13 nominations over its 40-year run.
Accompanied by guests Bullet for my Valentine and Oni, Megadeth performs at SaskTel Centre on May 4 at 7 p.m. Tickets go on sale through livenation.com on Thursday at 10 a.m.
