Widow of actor Nick Cordero speaks out

The widow of a Hamilton born actor who died while fighting COVID-19 is striking out after comments from US President Donald Trump.

Amanda Kloots took to Instagram to share her frustrations over the president's tweets when he left the Walter Reed Medical Centre.

Trump wrote, 'Don't be afraid of Covid. Don't let it dominate your life.'

Kloots responded by saying it did dominate the lives of her husband Nick Cordero, his friends, and his family.

She said '...not everyone is lucky enough to spend two days in the hospital. I cried next to my husband for 95 days watching what COVID did to the person I love. It IS soemthing to be afraid of. After you see the person you love the most die from this disease you would never say what this tweet says. There is no empathy to all the lives lost. He is bragging instead. It is sad. It is hurtful. It is disgraceful.'

Cordero was a Tony nominated actor known for his work in Bullets Over Broadway and several TV apperances.

He died in July after a long battle with COVID-19, including several complications.
