After beating the Penguins 5-0, the Senators are 4-4-0 in the first part of back-to-back sets and 3-3-1 in this second parts.
Dallas has a 10-8-4 overall record against the Senators at the Canadian Tire Centre. The Stars scored a 4-2 victory over Ottawa on Jan. 2 in Dallas.
The Stars bused to Ottawa after Saturday night’s 2-1 shootout victory in Montreal.
Forward Roope Hintz has five points (2-3-5) in his past four games against Ottawa, which includes scoring twice earlier this month.
Hintz has six points (2-4-6) in 10 career games versus the Senators.
What’s interesting to note is that Ottawa centre Tim Stutzle is still searching for his first goal against the Stars. He has six assists, but has yet to turn on the red light himself in seven career games against Dallas.
We’ll have to see if Ottawa head coach Travis Green opts to make any changes to the lineup.
BACK TO FORSBERG?
The decision to start Leevi Merilainen in net at Pittsburgh means Anton Forsberg will likely return to the crease against the Stars.
But who knows? Merilainen made 30 stops for his first NHL shutout and maybe they give him another chance in this one.

He is looking for his first victory since Nov. 25. He’s 0-4-1 in his past five starts and ranks No. 48 in the National Hockey League this season in save percentage (.883). That’s just not going to get you anywhere.
Merilainen made the necessary stops on Saturday.
