Parts of Parkland County asked to shelter in place, 2 suspects armed and dangerous

An emergency alert sent around 2:10 p.m. requested anyone in the area of Highways 60 and 628 to shelter in place. Two suspects in the area are considered armed and dangerous, according to RCMP.

Parts of Parkland County have been asked to shelter in place during an ongoing incident.

Two suspects considered armed and dangerous are in the area of Highways 60 and 628 west of Edmonton. Police are on scene.

An emergency alert sent out Saturday afternoon by Alberta RCMP asked anyone bounded by Highway 60 to Range Road 265 and Highway 628 to Township Road 523 to immediately shelter in place. Those not in the area are asked to avoid it.

Any suspicious activity should be reported to 911. Residents are asked not to approach suspicious individuals.
