For the past 50 years, there has been no greater fight for devoted conservatives and our faith-based values than the fight for life in the womb. 

It is also undeniable that no president has done more to fight for the unborn than Donald J. Trump.

For this reason, and as a lifelong Iowan, wife, mother, and grandmother of two who championed the Iowa fetal heartbeat bill signed into law in 2018, I am proud to endorse President Donald J. Trump for re-election to the highest office in the land.

Since the first day of his administration, President Trump took bold steps to ensure our nation remains a beacon of hope for the unborn by defunding the largest abortion provider in the country, Planned Parenthood, reinstating the Mexico City Policy, which prevents foreign organizations that perform abortions from receiving government funding from the United States, standing up to global organizations that attack the sovereign right of nations to protect innocent life, as well as working to stop the taxpayer funding of abortion nationwide.  

Undoubtedly, however, Trump’s most significant achievement to protect the unborn were his actions to shift the balance of the Supreme Court to a more conservative ideology. Trump deserves credit for the critical appointments of three Supreme Court justices — Neil Gorsuch, Brett Kavanaugh and Amy Coney Barrett — who together have demonstrated a commitment to upholding the Constitution and protecting the sanctity of life.

As a lifelong Iowan and small-business owner, I also know that Trump is the only Republican candidate who on Day One possesses the experience and fortitude to get our nation back on the right track. A true friend of Iowa during his time in office, Trump put more money back into the pockets of hardworking families, delivered on his promise to cut taxes, and reduced burdensome regulations that crippled small businesses and our beloved Iowa farmers.

Trump took bold and historic action to strengthen our national security by securing our borders to protect American citizens from illegal immigration and make our cities safer.  He rebuilt our military and took decisive action against terrorists.  He has been a vocal champion of Iowa’s farmers and ethanol producers, renegotiating the abysmal NAFTA trade deal into the USMCA and making E15 ethanol available year-round.

Trump has been a strong, conservative leader, and I believe that he alone has what it takes to navigate our country through these challenging times. His commitment to protecting the unborn, strengthening the economy, and securing our nation is exactly what we need in a real president.

I am proud to endorse Trump for re-election in 2024, and I urge all Iowans who value our patriotic way of life to support him as well.

Together, we can continue to keep Iowa great and make America great again.
