Presidents Cup: Sunday Singles match recaps
The traditional Sunday Singles format features 12 matches, each pitting one U.S. Team member against an International Team opponent.
The International Team arrived in North Carolina with an 0-7 record on American soil, as part of a 1-11-1 overall mark in the Presidents Cup.
Captain Trevor Immelman’s International Team has drawn strength from its underdog status, winning Saturday afternoon Four-ball by a 3-1 margin to maintain a fighting chance into the final day. Tom Kim teamed with Si Woo Kim for a dramatic 1-up victory over Patrick Cantlay/Xander Schauffele on Saturday afternoon, the 20-year-old South Korean’s winning birdie on No. 18 provoking a raucous celebration amongst his team.
Captain Davis Love III’s U.S. Team features three players with unblemished records into Sunday – Spieth, Thomas and team rookie Max Homa (3-0-0), who won last week’s TOUR season-opening Fortinet Championship and has continued his peak form.
