It’s hard to find an area of the game where we like Ottawa more than Toronto.

The Senators have lost two of their last three and four of their last six. That includes all three of their road games during this stretch. They aren’t keeping games close, either, losing by a margin of 23-10 over their last six.

Winning on the road has been tough for Ottawa, as the team ranks 28th in the league with an 8-12-2 record away from Canadian Tire Centre.

Conversely, Toronto’s dominant at home. The Maple Leafs own the NHL’s second-best home record (19-3-4) and have won by two or more goals in two of their last three games at Scotiabank Arena.

They also own a better expected goals percentage (56.34% - 53.04%) and team save percentage (.925 - .909) than the Sens over the last week, according to Natural Stat Trick, making them our preferred puck line pick.

Key stat: Five of Ottawa’s last six road losses are by two goals or more.

Under 6.5 goals (-117): Neither team is playing in too many high-scoring games these days, with the under on this total hitting in three consecutive games for Ottawa and three of Toronto’s last four.

Both are actually among the best under squads in the league. The Senators have gone under in 62.8% of their games (3rd in the NHL) while the Maple Leafs have gone under in 57.1% of their contests (T-6th).

Maple Leafs to win Period 2 (+100): Backing Toronto to win the second period is an excellent wager as the squad is one of the best middle-frame teams in the league. The Maple Leafs rank second in second-period goals (67) and second in goal differential (+25) during the middle 20.

Ottawa’s one of the lowest-scoring teams during the second period, tying for 30th with 43 goals. The Senators own a minus-9 goal differential in the middle frame.
