Weather alert Wind warning in effect for parts of BC and Metro
Parts of Metro Vancouver and Vancouver Island could be hit with wind gusts of up to 90 km/h on Saturday.

It looks like another blustery weekend ahead for parts of B.C.’s South Coast.

Environment and Climate Change Canada posted a wind warning early Friday morning, saying that wind gusts of up to 90 kilometres an hour were possible for parts of Metro Vancouver, Greater Victoria, the Southern Gulf Islands and East Vancouver Island.

The federal weather agency says the wind gusts will begin overnight and continue into early Saturday morning, and warns that high winds could cause tree branches to break leading to power outages.
