Winter storm alert Heavy snowfall and freezing rain forecasted for
Significant winter storm expected Wednesday evening through Thursday. Heavy snow and freezing rain are in the forecast for Waterloo Region and much of southern Ontario.

Environment Canada has issued a special weather statement for the region, beginning Wednesday evening and lasting through Thursday.

Heavy snowfall is expected with amounts that could exceed 15 centimetres, poor visibility from blowing snow and a potential for freezing rain overnight.
