India vs Bangladesh LIVE: Updates, highlights and result from T20 World Cup match

India will look to cement their spot in the T20 World Cup semi-finals on Wednesday night, with a clash against Bangladesh likely deciding second place in the group.

After wins over Pakistan and Netherlands, Rohit Sharma's men went down to group leaders South Africa on the weekend and now need at least one more victory to secure a semi-final berth.

The Tigers sit equal with India on points, but behind on net run-rate heading into the match. A win would see the side move into second spot with one game remaining against Pakistan.

The match between India and Bangladesh will be played at Adelaide Oval and is set to commence at 7pm AEDT.

4th over: WICKET!!! Hasan Mahmud into the attack, just moments after shelling a catch, and strikes immediately. Sharma plays an awkward-looking cut shot straight to the fielder, who takes a simple grab. 1/11 after 3.2 overs. 

3rd over: Taskin continues for the Tigers. Sharma goes for the big swing but misses out, before cutting off the back-foot straight to the man at backward-point. Sharma hits the ball straight down deep square-leg's throat, but the man on the boundary Hasan shells one of the easier catches you will see. Another top over from Taskin. 0/11 after 3. 

2nd over: Shoriful Islam is on from the other end, and he bowls a front-foot no-ball with his second delivery. Rahul fails to makes use of the free hit, struck on the pads for a dot, before tucking the next one away to fine-leg for a single. Sharma gets off the mark with a hack to fine-leg. Rahul flicks it over square-leg for six runs, beautiful shot and hit very cleanly off the willow. 0/10 after 2. 

1st over: Taskin Ahmed opens up for Bangladesh. KL Rahul leaves the first four deliveries, before punching a ball to cover for a single to get off the mark. Rohit Sharma defends the final ball, great start for the Tigers. 0/1 after 1. 

7pm: It's go time! Massive game here with both sides desperately needing a win. The anthems have been sung, with Rohit Sharma and KL Rahul to open up for India. Taskin Ahmed will take the new ball for the Tigers. 

6.30pm: Bangladesh have won the toss and elected to bowl first against India.
