Hydro crews working to restore multiple power outages after strong storm blows through Halton

Hydro crews across Halton Region are dealing with multiple outages and downed trees after a short, but powerful storm blew through Halton Region Sunday afternoon.
“We have several outages on our system, our crews have responded and are working to restore power, thanks for your patience!” Milton Hydro tweeted.
Burlington Hydro said it hoped to have power restored to all areas by 6:30 p.m.
“Crews are working to remove limbs from lines in areas in north Burlington impacted by the severe storm earlier this afternoon. Progress is being made, but it will take time to have power restored to all affected customers.”
Oakville Hydro reported outages in five wards and estimated it would have power restored by 4 p.m. In a follow-up, it said an outage west of Trafalgar to Dorval from Lakeshore to the QEW would be restored by 7 p.m.
“We are experiencing multiple power outages due to the recent storm,” Oakville Hydro tweeted. It followed up an hour later saying, “Our teams are working to resolve several outages and technical difficulties.”
